How old is matthew stafford

As of the current date, September 21, 2026, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford continues to be a focal point of discussion regarding veteran leadership in the NFL. Born on February 7, 1988, Stafford is currently 38 years old. Having entered the league as the first overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, he is now navigating his 18th professional season. Recent reports from September 18, 2026, highlight how Stafford’s age and extensive experience have shaped his role within the Rams' evolving offensive scheme. Analysts note that while he is among the oldest active starting quarterbacks in the league, his ability to read complex defensive coverages remains a significant asset for the team. Despite the physical toll of nearly two decades of professional football, Stafford has maintained his status as a starter, focusing on precision and decision-making to compensate for the natural decline in mobility often associated with his age. His longevity remains a testament to his durability and dedication to the sport as he continues to compete at the highest level.
