Are the padres going to make the playoffs

On 22 September 2026, the San Diego Padres officially secured their spot in the 2026 Major League Baseball postseason following a decisive victory that cemented their standing in the National League wild-card race. With the regular season nearing its conclusion, the team’s consistent performance throughout September allowed them to overcome mid-season fluctuations and guarantee at least a wild-card entry. Manager Mike Shildt praised the roster's resilience, noting that the team’s ability to win high-leverage games during the final stretch was the deciding factor in avoiding a late-season collapse. The Padres now shift their focus to finalizing their seeding, as they remain in a tight battle to potentially host a best-of-three wild-card series at Petco Park. Fans and analysts alike have highlighted the team's elite pitching depth and a rejuvenated lineup as the primary drivers behind this successful campaign. With the postseason ticket punched, the organization is now turning its attention to setting its rotation for the opening round, aiming to make a deep run toward the World Series.
