Where did josh hoover transfer from

As of 25 September 2026, Josh Hoover remains a central figure in the TCU Horned Frogs football program, having solidified his role as the team's starting quarterback. A common point of confusion for fans involves his recruitment history; however, it is important to clarify that Josh Hoover did not transfer to TCU from another university. He has been a homegrown talent for the Horned Frogs since he first arrived on campus. Hoover originally joined TCU as a three-star recruit out of Rockwall-Heath High School in Texas, officially enrolling in 2022. Throughout his collegiate career, he has remained loyal to the program, steadily climbing the depth chart from a backup role to becoming the primary signal-caller. His development under the TCU coaching staff has been a notable storyline in the Big 12 Conference. By remaining with the same institution since his freshman year, Hoover serves as a rare example of continuity in the modern era of college football, where the transfer portal has become the standard route for many high-profile quarterbacks seeking playing time.
