South alabama vs kentucky

On 24 September 2026, athletic departments from the University of South Alabama and the University of Kentucky officially announced a multi-game football series scheduled to begin in the coming years. This high-profile matchup marks a significant milestone for the South Alabama Jaguars as they continue to elevate their program’s visibility by scheduling games against established Southeastern Conference opponents. The agreement includes a contest at Kroger Field in Lexington, providing the Jaguars with a challenging road environment, while also securing a return game in Mobile to bolster the local economy and fan engagement. Coaches from both programs expressed enthusiasm regarding the series, noting that these non-conference games are essential for testing roster depth and preparing players for the rigors of their respective conference schedules. While the specific dates for the games are still being finalized, the announcement has generated considerable excitement among both fanbases, who look forward to the unique competitive dynamic between the Sun Belt and the SEC. This series represents a strategic move for South Alabama to solidify its reputation as a rising contender in college football.
