Sri lanka national cricket team vs india national cricket team match scorecard

On 28 September 2026, the Indian national cricket team secured a comprehensive victory over Sri Lanka in a high-profile ODI match held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Batting first, India posted a formidable total of 312/7, anchored by a brilliant century from their top-order batter who capitalized on a flat pitch. The Sri Lankan bowling attack struggled to contain the run rate during the middle overs, despite a brief resurgence led by their lead spinner. In response, the Sri Lankan batting lineup faltered under the pressure of a disciplined Indian pace attack. The hosts were bundled out for 215 in 42 overs, failing to build significant partnerships against the relentless accuracy of the Indian seamers. This result marks a significant shift in the bilateral series momentum, with India now leading 2-0. The match highlighted India's superior depth in both batting and bowling departments, leaving the Sri Lankan selectors with difficult decisions regarding their squad composition ahead of the final match of the series scheduled for later this week.
