Jasmine paolini vs daria snigur

On 28 September 2026, Jasmine Paolini secured a hard-fought victory against Daria Snigur during the opening rounds of the China Open in Beijing. The match, which lasted nearly two and a half hours, showcased a tactical battle between Paolini’s aggressive baseline consistency and Snigur’s crafty, varied shot-making. Paolini, currently ranked among the top players in the world, struggled initially to find her rhythm against the Ukrainian’s unconventional pace, dropping the first set in a tiebreak. However, the Italian adjusted her positioning in the second set, utilizing her superior court coverage to neutralize Snigur’s defensive lobs and drop shots. Paolini eventually broke Snigur’s serve twice in the deciding set to close out the match 6-7, 6-3, 6-2. This victory marks a significant milestone for Paolini as she continues her push for a high seed in the season-ending championships. For Snigur, the loss concludes a promising run through the qualifying stages, though her ability to challenge a top-tier opponent highlights her continued development on the professional tour.
