Is drew rasmussen related to dennis rasmussen

As of 3 October 2026, there is no evidence or credible reporting to suggest that professional baseball pitcher Drew Rasmussen and former professional hockey player Dennis Rasmussen are related. Despite sharing a common surname, the two athletes come from entirely different sporting backgrounds and geographical origins. Drew Rasmussen, a right-handed pitcher currently active in Major League Baseball, was born in the United States and played his collegiate baseball at Oregon State University. In contrast, Dennis Rasmussen is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who has spent the majority of his career competing in the National Hockey League and the Swedish Hockey League. Public records and biographical profiles for both individuals confirm that they do not share a familial connection. The confusion appears to be a common case of name coincidence frequently observed in professional sports. As of 3 October 2026, no genealogical data or personal statements from either athlete have ever linked them as family members, confirming they are distinct individuals with separate personal histories.
