Anfernee simons vs knicks

On 18 October 2026, reports surfaced indicating that the New York Knicks have renewed their interest in Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons as they look to bolster their perimeter scoring ahead of the 2026-2027 season. The Knicks, aiming to solidify their rotation behind Jalen Brunson, have reportedly identified Simons as a primary target due to his elite three-point shooting and ability to create offense in high-pressure situations. While Portland has been hesitant to part ways with their veteran core, league insiders suggest that the Trail Blazers are increasingly open to discussing a trade if the package includes significant draft capital and young defensive assets. Simons, who has consistently averaged over 20 points per game, remains a focal point of trade speculation as the Knicks look to maximize their championship window. Both front offices are reportedly engaged in preliminary discussions, though no formal agreement has been reached. The potential acquisition of Simons would provide New York with a dynamic secondary playmaker capable of spacing the floor for their star-studded frontcourt.
