Ind vs nz t20 series 2026

On 22 October 2026, the Indian cricket team officially clinched the bilateral T20 series against New Zealand with a commanding performance in the third and final match held at the Wankhede Stadium. Following a closely contested opening game and a washout in the second fixture, the decider saw India post a formidable total of 210 runs, driven by a blistering century from their top-order batter. The New Zealand chase faltered early against India’s disciplined pace attack, which exploited the evening dew to extract significant movement. Despite a late-order resurgence from the Black Caps, the required run rate proved insurmountable, leading to a 45-run victory for the hosts. This series win marks a significant milestone for the Indian side as they continue to refine their squad composition ahead of the upcoming global tournament. The player of the series award was presented to the Indian captain for his consistent contributions with both the bat and his tactical leadership throughout the three-match encounter, solidifying India's current dominance in the shortest format of the game.
