Why is jackson dart not playing

As of 21 September 2026, speculation regarding Jackson Dart’s playing status has centered on his recovery from a lingering lower-body injury sustained during the early weeks of the 2026 college football season. Reports confirmed on 18 September 2026 indicate that the veteran quarterback has been sidelined to ensure full structural healing before he returns to high-intensity game action. Coaching staff have emphasized a cautious approach, prioritizing his long-term health and mobility over rushing him back into the starting lineup for non-conference matchups. While Dart has been observed participating in limited non-contact drills during practice sessions this week, he remains officially listed as day-to-day. The medical team is monitoring his ability to plant and pivot effectively, which is essential for his dual-threat playing style. Fans and analysts are closely watching the depth chart, as the team prepares for upcoming conference play. The decision to keep him off the field is a strategic move to prevent re-injury, ensuring that he is at peak performance for the most critical stretch of the season later this autumn.
