How long will jaxson dart be out

On 21 September 2026, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin confirmed that star quarterback Jaxson Dart will be sidelined indefinitely following a lower-body injury sustained during the team’s high-stakes conference matchup this past weekend. The injury occurred during the second quarter of the game, forcing Dart to exit the field with assistance from the medical staff. While the university has not provided a specific timeline for his return, initial medical evaluations suggest a multi-week recovery process that will require intensive rehabilitation. Kiffin emphasized that the team is prioritizing Dart’s long-term health over a rushed return to the gridiron. As the Rebels prepare for their upcoming schedule, backup quarterback Austin Simmons has been elevated to the starting position. Fans and analysts are closely monitoring the situation, as Dart’s absence represents a significant blow to the team’s offensive momentum and their aspirations for a postseason berth. The coaching staff plans to provide further updates on his status as he progresses through the initial stages of his recovery protocol.
