Shemar moore returns in swat exiles

On 22 September 2026, CBS officially announced that Shemar Moore will reprise his iconic role as Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson in the highly anticipated spin-off series, S.W.A.T. Exiles. Following the conclusion of the flagship show, this new project shifts the narrative focus to a specialized, off-the-books tactical unit operating in international territories. Moore, who also serves as an executive producer, confirmed that the series will explore a darker, more clandestine side of Hondo’s career as he leads a team of disgraced former operatives to handle high-stakes threats that fall outside the jurisdiction of traditional law enforcement. Production is scheduled to begin in late October, with the series expected to premiere during the mid-season lineup. Fans have expressed significant excitement regarding the return of the character, noting that the shift to an "exile" premise allows for a grittier tone compared to the original series. The show aims to maintain the high-octane action sequences that defined the franchise while delving deeper into the moral complexities of Hondo’s new, unregulated mission.
