Florida state smu football game

On 26 September 2026, the SMU Mustangs secured a decisive 42-16 victory over the Florida State Seminoles in a highly anticipated Atlantic Coast Conference matchup. The game, held at Doak Campbell Stadium, saw the Mustangs' offense firing on all cylinders from the opening kickoff. SMU’s quarterback orchestrated a balanced attack, exploiting gaps in the Florida State secondary while maintaining control of the clock throughout the second half. The Seminoles struggled to find rhythm, hampered by multiple turnovers and an inability to convert on crucial third-down situations. Despite a brief surge of momentum for Florida State in the second quarter, SMU’s defensive front remained relentless, limiting the Seminoles to a single touchdown and three field goals. This win marks a significant milestone for the SMU program as they continue to establish their presence in the conference standings. For Florida State, the loss adds pressure to their coaching staff as they look to address recurring inconsistencies in their offensive line and defensive coverage heading into the remainder of the 2026 season.
