On 22 October 2026, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy addressed the media regarding the NFL’s ongoing efforts to expand its international footprint, specifically touching upon the league's long-term interest in hosting games in Paris, France. McCarthy emphasized that while the primary focus remains on the current competitive season, the coaching staff and front office have begun preliminary discussions regarding the logistical challenges of playing in new European markets. He noted that the transition to playing in cities like Paris would require significant adjustments to travel schedules, recovery protocols, and practice routines to ensure player performance remains optimal despite the increased travel demands. McCarthy expressed support for the league's global growth strategy, acknowledging that the NFL is actively scouting venues and infrastructure in France to determine the feasibility of future matchups. He highlighted that while no official date for a Paris game has been set, the organization is committed to being prepared for the logistical complexities that international expansion entails for professional football teams.
