Nations league

On 28 September 2026, the latest round of the UEFA Nations League concluded, solidifying the standings as teams push for qualification to the final tournament. In a highly anticipated clash, Spain maintained their dominance in League A, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Denmark. The decisive goal came in the 78th minute, keeping Spain at the top of their group and extending their unbeaten streak in competitive fixtures. Meanwhile, Portugal showcased their offensive depth with a commanding 3-0 win against Poland. Cristiano Ronaldo, continuing his international career, contributed an assist, while the team’s tactical fluidity proved too much for the Polish defense to handle. These results have significant implications for the upcoming knockout stages, as both Iberian nations look to secure their spots in the semi-finals. With only two matchdays remaining in the group phase, the pressure is mounting on teams like Croatia and Italy, who struggled to find consistency during this international break. The competition remains fierce as nations vie for both the trophy and improved seeding for future World Cup qualifying campaigns.
