Jason priestley movies and tv shows

On 22 September 2026, it was officially announced that Jason Priestley has been cast in a lead role for the upcoming psychological thriller series "Shadows of the Past," currently in production for Prime Video. Known globally for his iconic portrayal of Brandon Walsh in the 1990s hit "Beverly Hills, 90210," Priestley is set to play a retired investigative journalist who becomes entangled in a cold case involving his own family history. This project marks a significant return to dramatic television for the actor, who has spent much of the last decade focusing on directing and producing independent films. Industry insiders suggest that the series, which is slated for a mid-2027 release, will showcase a darker, more nuanced side of Priestley’s acting range. The production team noted that his extensive experience behind the camera has brought a unique perspective to his performance, making him the ideal choice for the complex protagonist. Fans of the actor have expressed excitement regarding his return to a high-profile scripted drama series after his recent work in television directing.
