Texas state football score

On 3 October 2026, the Texas State Bobcats faced a challenging road defeat against the Sam Houston Bearkats in a pivotal Sun Belt Conference matchup. The game, which concluded late Friday evening, saw the Bobcats struggle to maintain offensive momentum against a disciplined Bearkats defense. Despite a strong effort from the Texas State quarterback, who managed to orchestrate several scoring drives in the second half, the team ultimately fell short with a final score of 27–20. The loss marks a significant setback for the Bobcats as they navigate the middle portion of their 2026 season schedule. Texas State’s coaching staff noted that while the team showed resilience in the fourth quarter, critical turnovers and missed third-down conversions proved to be the deciding factors in the outcome. The Bobcats will now look to regroup during the upcoming week of practice as they prepare for their next conference opponent, aiming to correct the defensive lapses that allowed Sam Houston to control the clock throughout the contest.
