Is rashee rice related to jerry rice

As of 4 October 2026, persistent public curiosity regarding a potential familial link between Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice and NFL legend Jerry Rice remains a frequent topic of discussion among football fans. Despite sharing a surname and a profession, there is no biological or familial relationship between the two players. Jerry Rice, widely considered the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, hails from Starkville, Mississippi, and played the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers. In contrast, Rashee Rice, who emerged as a standout talent for the Chiefs, grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and attended Southern Methodist University. The confusion is purely coincidental, stemming from their shared last name and their shared position on the field. While Rashee Rice has often been asked about the connection during media interviews throughout his professional tenure, he has consistently confirmed that he is not related to the Hall of Famer. This distinction remains a settled fact in sports media as of October 2026.
