As of 7 October 2026, Victor Mesa Jr. remains a focal point of the Miami Marlins' long-term outfield strategy following his performance throughout the 2026 minor league season. Playing for the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Mesa Jr. demonstrated consistent growth in his plate discipline and defensive versatility. Throughout the 2026 campaign, he maintained a solid batting average while showcasing improved power numbers, hitting double-digit home runs and contributing significantly to the team's offensive production. Scouts have highlighted his ability to track fly balls in center field as a major asset, noting that his defensive range has reached major league caliber. While he faced some challenges with strikeout rates against advanced pitching, his overall OPS remained competitive within the International League. The Marlins organization has expressed satisfaction with his progression, emphasizing that his ability to handle high-leverage situations in the minors has prepared him for a potential call-up. As the season concludes, Mesa Jr. is expected to participate in instructional leagues to refine his swing mechanics before competing for a permanent roster spot in the 2027 spring training.
