Ethan hawke movies and tv shows

On 3 November 2026, it was officially announced that Ethan Hawke has signed on to lead the cast of the highly anticipated psychological thriller, The Silent Echo. The film, which is currently in pre-production, marks a return to the intense, character-driven dramas that have defined much of Hawke’s recent career. In this project, Hawke portrays a reclusive former detective who becomes obsessed with a series of unexplained disappearances in a remote coastal town. Industry insiders suggest that the role was written specifically with Hawke in mind, highlighting his ability to convey deep-seated emotional complexity. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with a theatrical release expected by late 2028. This news follows a period of relative quiet for the actor, who has been focusing on independent projects and stage work throughout the latter half of 2026. Fans of his work in films like First Reformed and The Northman are expressing significant excitement regarding his return to the genre, as the project promises to showcase his signature intensity and nuanced performance style.

On 28 October 2026, streaming giant GlobalStream confirmed that Ethan Hawke will join the ensemble cast of the upcoming science fiction limited series, Nebula Station. The show, which is set to begin filming in early 2027, explores the political and social tensions aboard a long-haul space vessel traveling to a distant colony. Hawke is set to play the ship’s disillusioned chief engineer, a character grappling with the moral implications of the mission’s true purpose. This role represents a significant shift for Hawke, who has rarely ventured into large-scale space-based science fiction during his decades-long career. The series is being developed by a team of acclaimed writers known for their work on high-concept dramas, and it is expected to be one of the platform's flagship releases for the 2027-2028 season. Hawke’s involvement is seen as a major coup for the production, as he continues to balance his interest in experimental storytelling with high-profile television projects that challenge his range as an actor.
