College football ap poll top 25

On 11 October 2026, the Associated Press released its updated Top 25 college football poll following the conclusion of the Week 7 slate of games. The rankings reflect the significant shifts in the landscape of the 2026 season as conference play intensifies across the country. The top of the poll remains highly competitive, with undefeated programs continuing to solidify their positions in the College Football Playoff race. Several teams that secured marquee victories over the weekend saw substantial jumps in the rankings, while others dropped following unexpected upsets. The poll highlights the dominance of perennial powerhouses alongside rising programs that have maintained perfect records through the first half of the season. Analysts noted that the current rankings place a heavy emphasis on strength of schedule and head-to-head results as teams prepare for the final stretch of the regular season. With the mid-point of the season now passed, the AP poll serves as a critical indicator of which programs are currently positioned to contend for conference championships and national title berths in the coming months.
