Was there a rocket launch in florida today

On 19 October 2026, SpaceX successfully executed a Falcon 9 rocket launch from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission, which lifted off at 8:14 AM local time, was tasked with deploying a new batch of next-generation communications satellites into low Earth orbit to expand global internet coverage. The launch proceeded according to schedule, with the rocket’s first-stage booster performing a flawless vertical landing on a drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean approximately eight minutes after liftoff. This recovery marks another milestone in the company’s rapid-turnaround flight program. Weather conditions at the Florida spaceport were reported as 90% favorable, allowing for an uninterrupted countdown and ascent. The second stage of the rocket continued its trajectory to reach the target orbital insertion point, where the payload was successfully deployed. This mission represents the latest in a series of high-frequency launches from the Florida coast, underscoring the region's continued dominance as a primary hub for commercial and government space operations throughout the 2026 calendar year.
