As of Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the Oklahoma City Thunder have officially cleared Jalen Williams to play in tonight’s highly anticipated season opener. Following a brief period of concern regarding a minor ankle sprain sustained during the final week of the preseason, the team’s medical staff confirmed that Williams participated fully in Tuesday’s practice session without any setbacks. Head coach Mark Daigneault addressed the media earlier today, confirming that there are no remaining restrictions on the forward’s minutes for the game. Williams, who has become a cornerstone of the Thunder’s rotation, is expected to start and play his usual allotment of minutes as the team looks to build on their momentum from last year’s deep playoff run. His availability is a significant boost for the Thunder, who are looking to establish an early rhythm against their conference rivals in the first game of the 2026-2027 campaign.
