Viral coyote pear tree video

On 19 October 2026, a charming video featuring a coyote snacking on fruit from a backyard pear tree went viral across social media platforms, capturing the hearts of wildlife enthusiasts and suburban homeowners alike. The footage, captured by a motion-activated security camera in a residential neighborhood, shows the wild canine carefully selecting ripe pears from the lower branches of the tree before retreating into the shadows. Wildlife experts noted that while coyotes are primarily carnivorous, they are opportunistic omnivores that frequently supplement their diets with seasonal fruits, especially during the autumn months when natural food sources may fluctuate. The video has garnered millions of views, with many viewers expressing surprise at the animal's gentle behavior and its ability to navigate a domestic garden without causing damage. Local animal control officials have used the viral moment as an educational opportunity, reminding residents to secure trash bins and remove fallen fruit to prevent coyotes from becoming overly habituated to human-populated areas, despite the harmless nature of this specific encounter.
