Prime video the boys franchise expansion

On 28 September 2026, Amazon MGM Studios officially announced the greenlighting of a new expansion project within The Boys franchise. Following the conclusion of the flagship series, the studio is moving forward with a prequel project titled The Boys: Vought Rising. Set in the 1950s, the series will explore the early origins of the Vought corporation and the initial experiments involving Compound V. The narrative will focus on the rise of iconic characters such as Soldier Boy and a younger version of Stan Edgar, providing a deeper look into the dark history of the superhero industrial complex. This expansion is part of Amazon’s broader strategy to maintain the momentum of its most successful adult-oriented superhero property. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with several key creative leads from the original series returning to oversee the project. The announcement confirms that the franchise will continue to prioritize character-driven origin stories that expand the lore of the established universe while maintaining the satirical tone that defined the original show.
