Darrell waltrip rick hendrick mro auction

On 28 October 2026, NASCAR legends Darrell Waltrip and Rick Hendrick announced a significant partnership to support the Motor Racing Outreach (MRO) organization through a high-profile charity auction. The event, scheduled to take place during the upcoming championship weekend, features a collection of rare memorabilia curated from the personal archives of both the Hall of Fame driver and the championship-winning team owner. Among the marquee items up for bidding is a restored 1980s-era race car chassis and a collection of race-worn firesuits from Waltrip’s iconic tenure at Hendrick Motorsports. All proceeds from the auction are designated to fund MRO’s ongoing mission to provide spiritual and emotional support to the racing community, including trackside chapels and family counseling services. Both men emphasized the importance of sustaining the organization’s work for the next generation of drivers and crew members. The auction has already garnered significant attention from collectors, with pre-bidding activity signaling a record-breaking fundraising goal for the non-profit, which has served the NASCAR garage area for over three decades.
