Aaron donald return to rams

As of 22 September 2026, speculation regarding a potential return of legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald to the Los Angeles Rams continues to circulate among NFL analysts and fan bases. Despite the ongoing chatter, there have been no official developments or indications from Donald or the Rams organization suggesting that he intends to come out of retirement. Donald, who officially stepped away from professional football in March 2024, has maintained a consistent stance that his decision to retire is permanent. While the Rams have faced various challenges on the defensive line over the past two seasons, the team has publicly stated that they are committed to building around their current roster rather than relying on the return of former stars. Donald has been seen occasionally at team facilities in a mentorship capacity, which has fueled fan optimism, but team officials have clarified that these visits are strictly personal and not part of a comeback effort. As the 2026 season progresses, the Rams remain focused on their current defensive scheme without the future Hall of Famer.
