Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is widely praised for its masterful blend of dark humor, stylized violence, and the iconic screen presence of its lead. Critics highlight the film’s ability to revitalize the "superstar" genre by placing Rajinikanth in a grounded yet intense role as a retired jailer seeking vengeance for his son. The narrative structure, which balances slow-burn tension with explosive set pieces, is frequently cited as a masterclass in pacing.
