When is the mlb world series

As of October 16, 2026, Major League Baseball has confirmed that the 2026 World Series is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 23, 2026. The best-of-seven championship series will feature the winners of the American League and National League pennants. Following the conclusion of the League Championship Series, which are currently in their final stages, the Fall Classic will utilize the standard 2-3-2 format. The team with the superior regular-season record will host Games 1, 2, 6, and 7, while the opposing team will host Games 3, 4, and 5. If the series extends to a full seven games, the final contest is slated for October 31, 2026. League officials confirmed this timeline on October 14, 2026, noting that the schedule accounts for potential travel days between venues. Fans are currently awaiting the finalization of the participating clubs as the postseason intensity reaches its peak. The broadcast rights for the entirety of the series remain with the league's primary television partners, ensuring national coverage for all games.
