Fairfield mall shooting

On 28 October 2026, the Fairfield Police Department responded to reports of a shooting incident at the Solano Town Center mall. Authorities arrived on the scene shortly after receiving multiple emergency calls regarding gunfire heard near the main entrance of the shopping complex. Upon arrival, officers secured the perimeter and initiated a systematic search of the facility to ensure the safety of shoppers and employees. Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident stemmed from a targeted altercation between two individuals rather than a random act of violence. One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The mall was placed under a temporary lockdown while law enforcement processed the scene and reviewed surveillance footage to identify the suspects involved. As of 31 October 2026, the investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. The mall has since resumed normal operations, though security presence has been increased to reassure the public and maintain order within the shopping center.
