On 1 November 2026, race organizers confirmed the final logistics for the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, which is set to take place later today. The event features a staggered start system designed to manage the flow of over 50,000 participants across the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. The professional wheelchair division leads the day, departing at 8:00 a.m. ET. This is followed by the handcycle category at 8:20 a.m. ET and the professional women’s open division at 8:40 a.m. ET. The professional men’s open division is scheduled to begin at 9:05 a.m. ET. Following the elite athletes, the mass participation field will depart in five distinct waves. The first wave begins at 9:10 a.m. ET, with subsequent waves launching at 9:45 a.m., 10:10 a.m., 10:35 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. ET. Runners are reminded that their specific wave and corral assignments are based on their qualifying times and expected pace, and they must arrive at their designated assembly areas well in advance of their respective start times to ensure a smooth transition onto the course.
