Robert gasser vs padres

On 12 October 2026, the Milwaukee Brewers confirmed that left-handed pitcher Robert Gasser successfully underwent a complex elbow reconstruction procedure. The surgery, performed by renowned orthopedic specialists, addressed lingering ligament damage that had sidelined the pitcher for the majority of the 2026 season. Gasser, who was previously a highly touted prospect within the San Diego Padres organization before being traded to Milwaukee, had been attempting a non-surgical rehabilitation program throughout the summer. However, persistent discomfort during simulated game sessions necessitated the operation. Team medical staff stated that the procedure went exactly as planned, and Gasser is expected to begin a rigorous physical therapy regimen immediately. While the recovery timeline effectively rules him out for the remainder of the current calendar year and the upcoming spring training, the organization remains optimistic that he will be fully cleared to compete for a spot in the starting rotation by the middle of the 2027 season. Gasser expressed gratitude for the support from his teammates and fans as he begins his long road to recovery.
