Angelo brizzi unc basketball transfer

On 14 October 2026, Angelo Brizzi officially announced his decision to transfer to the University of North Carolina men’s basketball program. The former Villanova guard, who entered the transfer portal following a period of limited playing time, chose the Tar Heels after a highly publicized recruitment process involving several top-tier Atlantic Coast Conference schools. Brizzi, known for his high basketball IQ and perimeter shooting ability, is expected to provide immediate depth to North Carolina’s backcourt rotation as the team prepares for the upcoming season. Head coach Hubert Davis expressed enthusiasm regarding the addition, noting that Brizzi’s experience in a structured collegiate system will be vital for the team's offensive versatility. Brizzi has already begun practicing with the squad in Chapel Hill and is eligible to compete immediately. His arrival is viewed by analysts as a strategic move to bolster the team's outside scoring threats, addressing a key area of concern identified during the previous campaign. Brizzi is slated to make his debut for the Tar Heels in the season opener next month.
