On 24 October 2026, the Seattle Mariners officially announced the signing of infielder Ben Williamson to a minor league contract, marking a significant step in the player's professional development. Williamson, who was originally selected by the Mariners in the second round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of the College of William & Mary, has spent the last several seasons climbing through the organization's farm system. Known for his defensive versatility and disciplined approach at the plate, Williamson spent the majority of the 2026 campaign competing at the Double-A level, where he demonstrated consistent growth in his power numbers and overall offensive production. This new agreement ensures that Williamson will remain a key part of the Mariners' depth chart as he continues to push for a potential major league call-up in the upcoming 2027 season. The organization expressed confidence in his ability to contribute to the big league roster, citing his work ethic and adaptability as primary reasons for his continued progression within the franchise's developmental pipeline.
