Is deni avdija playing tonight

As of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Deni Avdija is officially listed as out for tonight’s game due to a lingering lower-body injury sustained during the team's season-opening road trip. The Portland Trail Blazers medical staff confirmed that the forward did not participate in the morning shootaround, opting instead for individual rehabilitation work and treatment. Head coach Chauncey Billups addressed the media earlier today, stating that the organization is prioritizing Avdija’s long-term health over an immediate return to the court. While the injury is not considered season-ending, the team has opted to exercise caution to prevent further aggravation of the soft tissue issue. Avdija, who has been a key component of the rotation, will be re-evaluated by team doctors on Friday morning to determine his availability for the upcoming weekend series. In his absence, the coaching staff is expected to adjust the starting lineup, likely increasing minutes for the team’s bench wings to compensate for his defensive versatility and playmaking ability.
