Who does willson contreras play for

As of 29 October 2026, Willson Contreras continues to serve as the primary catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Following his transition from the Chicago Cubs several seasons ago, Contreras has solidified his role as a veteran leader and a key offensive contributor within the Cardinals' lineup. Throughout the 2026 Major League Baseball season, he has remained a fixture behind the plate, providing both defensive stability and power-hitting capabilities that the organization relies upon to compete in the National League Central. Despite various roster adjustments made by the front office to address team depth, Contreras’s position as the starting catcher has remained secure. His durability and experience have been vital for the Cardinals' pitching staff as they navigate the challenges of a long season. As the team looks toward the offseason and preparations for 2027, Contreras is expected to continue his tenure in St. Louis, maintaining his status as one of the most prominent and productive catchers currently active in professional baseball.
