Samsung news app discontinued 2026

{Samsung News app to be discontinued in late 2026} On 28 October 2026, Samsung officially announced that it will be discontinuing its dedicated Samsung News application. The company confirmed that the service, which provided users with curated news feeds and personalized content directly on their mobile devices, will cease operations on 30 November 2026. Samsung stated that this strategic decision is part of an ongoing effort to streamline its software ecosystem and focus resources on core user experiences. Following the shutdown, the Samsung News widget will be removed from all devices, and users will no longer be able to access the aggregated news platform. Samsung has advised its user base to transition to alternative third-party news aggregators or browser-based services to continue receiving their daily updates. The company emphasized that this change will not affect other integrated services or the general functionality of its smartphones. This move marks the end of Samsung’s direct involvement in the news aggregation market, as the firm shifts its focus toward enhancing its primary operating system features and other digital service integrations for its global customer base.
