San luis - atlas

On 29 October 2026, Atlético San Luis achieved a significant 2-1 victory against Atlas in a highly contested Liga MX Apertura match held at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras. The game was defined by intense tactical battles in the midfield, with both teams fighting to improve their standing in the league table as the regular season approaches its conclusion. San Luis opened the scoring early in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse by the Atlas backline. Although Atlas managed to equalize shortly after the break through a well-executed set-piece, the home side regained the lead in the 78th minute following a clinical counter-attack. This result provides a vital boost for San Luis, who are currently pushing for a direct qualification spot in the Liguilla. Conversely, the defeat leaves Atlas struggling to maintain consistency, placing increased pressure on their coaching staff to secure points in the remaining fixtures. The match concluded with both sides showing fatigue, but San Luis held firm to secure all three points.
