Aus vs afg

On 28 October 2026, Cricket Australia and the Afghanistan Cricket Board officially confirmed the schedule for a highly anticipated three-match T20 International series set to take place in early 2027. This announcement follows months of diplomatic discussions regarding the future of bilateral cricket between the two nations. The series is scheduled to be hosted in neutral venues across the United Arab Emirates, ensuring that both teams can compete in conditions familiar to the Afghan squad while maintaining the competitive intensity expected of top-tier international cricket. The series holds significant weight for both sides as they look to refine their rosters ahead of the next major ICC tournament cycle. Australian selectors have indicated that they will use these matches to test emerging talent, while Afghanistan aims to build on their recent momentum against Full Member nations. The matches are slated to begin in mid-January 2027, marking a pivotal moment for the sport as both boards continue to navigate the complexities of international scheduling and political considerations surrounding the development of cricket within Afghanistan.
