How much does kyle whittingham make

As of 6 October 2026, Kyle Whittingham remains one of the highest-paid coaches in college football, reflecting his long-standing tenure and success at the University of Utah. Following the latest contract adjustments finalized earlier this year, Whittingham’s annual compensation package is valued at approximately $7.5 million. This figure includes his base salary, supplemental income, and performance-based incentives that have been restructured to align with the evolving financial landscape of the Big 12 Conference. The university’s athletic department confirmed that these terms were solidified during the off-season to ensure stability for the program amidst ongoing conference realignment and the expansion of the College Football Playoff. While specific details regarding private bonuses remain confidential, the current agreement keeps Whittingham firmly positioned among the top-tier earners in the sport. His compensation reflects not only his longevity as the longest-tenured head coach in the Power Four conferences but also the administration's commitment to maintaining competitive parity as the Utes navigate the challenges of the 2026 season.
